Some traveling to Ghana

Well today I went out and bought a new outfit for Brody and some adorable Elmo sandals :-) I picked up a cute Easter Toy - stuffed Lion with Bunny Ears & Jelly Beans. 2 packets of Flinstone Vitamins, toothbrush & toothpaste. Tomorrow I may throw in a book or two.

Mo is traveling very soon to Ghana to file her I600 in person. She'll travel once we know that the passports are ready!!! I'm so jealous of her to be able to go and meet Jeremiah & Maria. She's also going to meet our Brody!!!! We joked and said that if things move at the Embassy while she's there and they get her visas, she's to give them Brody's paperwork too, and just bring him home with her :-) LOL. Since Jeremiah & Maria are in the same foster home as Brody, she'll be able to spend some good time with him. I've asked only a few things. New photos & measurements :-)

Anita is also traveling to Ghana. She actually is on a plane now. She left this afternoon. Apparently her Pediatrician was very nervous about Bright's medical exam, especially his anemia. She believes he needs to be hospitalized, and possibly have a blood transfusion. How scary. So Anita is making that long journey all on her own. She's had her Dr & Senator write letters to the Embassy to expedite the Visa investigation for Bright, so she can hopefully bring him home.

While I'm THRILLED that Anita may be able to bring Bright home, it does raise some concerns for me. I'm worried that she may "push" the Embassy workers too much, and that will raise Red Flags for anyone else coming through from LVI. I'm worried that the Embassy will see this as a way around the system.......
Embassy workers are not always Americans believe it or not. In Ghana they actually are Ghanaian people that process all of our paperwork. So if someone is new or may not be as familiar with the types of Visas we need they may not be as likely to help out.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things go :-) Patients!! LOL - that's not me as you all know.

Well that's all for now ~ I know I haven't posted much lately, but we are kind of in a "waiting pattern"..... hope to have the passports early next week!!

Cheers,
Julz, Scott & Brody
